At LBL, we believe in the truly revolutionary and life changing potential of blockchain and other DLTs.
LBL is a non-profit and our mission is to empower the students, entrepreneurs, businesses and policy-makers of today to be the world-changers of tomorrow.
LBL was founded in 2017 by former members of the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies, Blockchain at LSE and Blockchain at Berkeley. Having run a poll on the campuses of UCL and LSE we were amazed that blockchain understanding was still at an incipient level, even as the technology’s phenomenal potential was being uncovered around the world.
Since January 2018, LBL has accumulated a community of 2500+ blockchain enthusiasts, hosting 50+ events and attending dozens more. We have helped connect students with employment opportunities, with 25+ people to our knowledge currently working in blockchain companies.
Our first Labs cohort of 8 yielded 8 blockchain developers, with experience across smart contract development in Solidity, Ethereum back-end, IPFS integration and Hyperledger Fabric, all of whom are now employed in the Blockchain space.
